Doctrine & Beliefs
The spiritual framework of Church of Spirits® — where faith, fellowship, and clinical wellness converge.
The Church Authority Doctrine
The Church Authority Doctrine of Church of Spirits® establishes the foundational principles by which our community operates. It is not a rigid set of commandments but a living framework — one that evolves as our understanding of faith, wellness, and human connection deepens.
Our doctrine holds that spiritual health is an essential component of whole-person wellness, and that a community grounded in genuine fellowship, radical inclusivity, and evidence-informed practice can provide the foundation for lasting personal transformation. We reject the false dichotomy between faith and science. Instead, we embrace the Conceptual Health® model as a bridge between the measurable and the meaningful.
The authority of this church rests not in hierarchy but in shared conviction: that every individual deserves access to a community that supports their spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being without condition or prerequisite. Our leadership serves as stewards of this mission, accountable to the community they are called to support.
Core Beliefs
These beliefs form the spiritual and philosophical foundation of our community. They are held with conviction and practiced with compassion.
Whole-Person Wellness Is Sacred
We believe that the health of the body, mind, and spirit are inseparable. True wellness cannot be achieved by treating one dimension in isolation. The Conceptual Health® 8-axis model reflects this conviction: every axis of health contributes to the wholeness of the person.
Spirit Is Measurable
The Spiritual Coherence (SC) axis within the Conceptual Health® model demonstrates that spiritual engagement, community participation, and inner peace are not abstract ideals — they are clinically observable contributors to overall wellness. Faith is not opposed to science; it is illuminated by it.
Fellowship Is Medicine
Genuine human connection — free of pretense, obligation, or judgment — produces measurable improvements in emotional resilience, relational strength, and spiritual coherence. Our gatherings are designed to nurture these connections authentically.
Every Path Is Valid
We do not prescribe a singular spiritual tradition. Whether you come from a Christian, Buddhist, secular, or entirely personal spiritual background, your path is honored here. Church of Spirits® exists to support your journey, not to redirect it.
Authority Resides in Community
Our doctrine is not imposed from above. It is shaped by the lived experience of our community, informed by clinical evidence, and refined through open dialogue. Leadership serves the congregation; the congregation does not serve the leadership.
Growth Over Perfection
We celebrate progress, not perfection. The Conceptual Mastery (CM) score reflects this principle: it is not a grade to be achieved but a compass indicating the direction of your growth across all eight dimensions of health.
Spiritual Coherence & the SC Axis
Spiritual Coherence
The axis at the heart of our church-clinic model
Within the Conceptual Health® 8-axis model, the Spiritual Coherence (SC) axis measures faith engagement, spiritual practices, community involvement, and inner peace. It is the dimension that directly links what we do as a church to clinically meaningful health outcomes.
Research consistently demonstrates that individuals with active spiritual lives, strong community ties, and a sense of transcendent purpose experience improved emotional regulation, stronger immune function, and greater overall life satisfaction. The SC axis captures these benefits within a quantifiable framework.
At Church of Spirits®, every fellowship gathering, retreat, act of service, and moment of shared reflection contributes to your SC score — and by extension, your total Conceptual Health® score. This is the bridge between faith and clinical wellness: not a compromise between the two, but a demonstration that they have always been connected.
How Faith Integrates with Conceptual Health®
Clinical Measurement
The SC axis translates spiritual engagement into quantifiable health data, enabling pastoral care and clinical assessment to inform each other.
Holistic Programs
Our wellness programs address all 8 axes simultaneously, ensuring that spiritual growth supports and is supported by physical, emotional, and relational health.
Community Outcomes
Fellowship participation directly improves SC, RS, and ER axis scores — demonstrating that community itself is a form of preventive care.
Inclusivity Principles
These principles are non-negotiable. They define the character of every interaction, program, and space within Church of Spirits®.
No Prerequisites for Belonging
There is no creed to recite, no tithe required, and no belief test to pass. You belong here the moment you arrive.
All Backgrounds Welcome
We honor every religious tradition, cultural background, identity, and life experience. Diversity strengthens our community.
Voluntary Participation
Every activity, program, and gathering is optional. Engage at your own pace, on your own terms.
Judgment-Free Environment
Our spaces are designed to be safe for honest conversation, personal reflection, and authentic connection without fear of criticism.
